Larian Studios is an independent game developer located in Gent, Belgium. Lonely Planet puts Gent in its top 10 of cities to visit, so we’re working in a pretty cool place. Gent has a nice castle, and lots of nice towers. Here are some pictures.

We make all kinds of games for all kinds of platforms that are played by millions of people. Our most famous games are the Divinity series and the games we made for kid broadcasters.

It seems we’re good at what we do, as we win all kinds of awards with these games. We’re pretty happy about that so we listed them on this page.

But we want more. Our evil master plan is to make the “Very Big RPG That Will Dwarf Them All”. We’re working on it. You can help us by buying our games here.

If you want to learn more about Larian Studios, you can learn all kinds of stuff about us on our Facebook page.

EDITOR'S CHOICE AWARD AND GAMER'S CHOICE AWARD

Every year RPGwatch, a thriving community of RPG experts, hand out their game of the year awards. We're very pleased to announce that Divinity II – The Dragon Knight Saga secured the second place in the category Editors' Choice and the third place in the category Gamers' choice. Here's what they said:
"It's amazing such a good game remained undiscovered until this "remastered" version was released. With improved framerates and lighting, better balancing and the new Flames of Vengeance expansion providing a fitting ending, the Dragon Knight Saga is a fantastic game."

BEST PC GAME in 2010 and BEST XBOX360 GAME in 2010 !!

The French magazine jeuxvideo.com has awarded Divinity II - The Dragon Knight Saga with the
"Best RPG of 2010" award twice!

"Thanks to its open character development, the remarkable quality of the musical score and its well-written story, this games deserves your full attention."
"Don't forget that for a bit less that 40 euro, this title offers a superior 60 hours of gameplay."

EDITOR'S CHOICE AWARD

Neoseeker released a lenghty review of The Dragon Knight Saga and awarded it very high marks. One of the many things the reviewer had to say: "I can say off the bat The Dragon Knight Saga is a gem!" Game Review Score: 9/10

SILVER AWARD

Divinity II - The Dragon Knight Saga also charmed the reviewer at XboxDynasty.de: "An extensive campaign, countless subquests and witty dialogs make it a game worth playing." (German, translated). Game Review Score: 8.4/10

DARK HORSE AWARD and the LOL AWARD

Nowgamer.com reviewed Divinity II - The Dragon Knight Saga on Xbox360 and they liked it! Game Review Score: 8.2/10
"The Dark Horse award" which stands for "Awarded to a game that has successfully hidden its greatness right up to the moment of review where it has been found to be flippin' marvelous"
they say:

"A graphically appealing, world-spanning, exploration and questing focused, largely open-world RPG opus quite unlike anything else on the console. It even manages laugh-out-loud moments with its bawdy and often Pythonesque humour."

On the topic of the humor in Divinity, they also awarded it a LOL-award, because:
"cause drinks to gush from our noses in an unstoppable avalanche of unrestrained mirth".

EDITOR'S CHOICE AWARD

French site XboxYGen rated The Dragon Knight Saga very good and giving it a "coup de coeur award (editor's choice"), the author writes (translated): "Incredibly deep, it is a pearl of a game for all old-school RPG fans, that doesn't make too many concessions and which you'll appreciate if you invest yourself fully into it." Game Review Score: 4/5

EDITOR'S CHOICE AWARD

JeuxActu.com rates The Dragon Knight Saga a 17/20. Here's a translated snip of what the author had to say: "The Dragon Knight Saga is a better game than Ego Draconis, and does this using a two-level approach. On the one hand, the initial adventure has received a serious face lift which makes it a lot more fun, on the other hand, the inclusion of the Flames of Vengeance content gives us another 15 hours of additional pleasure and closes the scenario in style. So, yes, the game didn't get the benefit of a tremendous PR campaign, but trust us, it's equally good, if not better, than today's blockbusters !" Game Review Score: 17/20

Gamestar Gold Award for Divinity II - Flames of Vengeance
Gamestar Gold Award

Excellent Quest Quality

German magazine Gamestar rated the game 83% and gave it a Gamestar award, three reviewers state their opinion. Here's a snip from what they had to say (in German): "Dieses Spiel ist für mich bisher die positive Überraschung dieses Jahres! Was hier an Spielwitz lauert, was an frischen Ideen aufgetischt wird, ohne dass bewährte Genre-Standards auf dem »Innovationen um jeden Preis«-Altar geopfert werden, das geht kaum auf eine Drachenhaut." The little German we know tells us that they think
Divinity II - Ego Draconis is the positive surprise of the year
and that what's shown here in terms of fresh ideas and innovation without sacrificing genre standards is really cool.

EDITOR'S CHOICE AWARD

The Russian LKI game magazine rewarded the game with
an Editor’s Choice Award and a fantastic game score of 90%!
Here's their conclusion:
"Divinity II is the excellent sequel to the excellent role-playing game Divine Divinity. Cheerful and very serious at the same time, it sends us to determine the fate of millions in the world Rivellon where comes the final battle between good and evil. Storyline twists, attention to details and the transformation into a dragon - it is only a small part of the Divinity II dignity".

GAMEPLAY AWARD

"This is really a very good game!"
